For whatever reason I read Around The World In Eighty Days by Jules Verne. What a great novel. Excitement, adventure and I finally got the joke of Passepartout.

Fall

Maybe the single best reason to live in Columbia County is the change of seasons. Well, that and the fact that my wife and kids are here...

You can feel the seasons change - it's much deeper than simply watching the leaves go red and yellow and orange. You suddenly want chili and lentil soup. You roast things. (it's lunchtime... can you tell?) You're willing to put on a sweater, but with shorts. That's the great thing about early fall. Sweaters and shorts.

Parenting Lessons

I'm trying to instill a strong, well rounded sense of humor into each of my 4 children (aged 5 to 11). I think this weekend we'll watch some Marx Brothers and perhaps Stripes.

Then we'll discuss timing.

(favorite joke: ask someone to ask you why you're the funniest guy in the world - before they finish asking yell TIMING... makes me laugh every time)
