Many a bluegrass song evokes longing passions centering around a cabin in the pines. Banjos twang and guitar strings sing sweet melodies of memories come and gone. Hewn beams, thick chinking between, show off the axe marks and saw blade cuts, pretty as any picture ever painted. A mudroom, pantry for storing goods, hats, boots and jackets. Over in the living room a big ol' woodstove crackles and pops. In the kitchen the finishing touches settle on a gourmet meal, cooked on stainless gourmet appliances. Everyone gathers in the dining room, or in good weather on the screened porch for a home-cooked touch of heaven. Afterwards the adults mosey to the living room for canasta while the young-in's head upstairs to the playroom. Night falls, two big folk bedrooms down, a bunk room above while you fall asleep to stars singing that high lonesome sound.
